Moped driving

Has the moped driving come farther in spain than it was about 3 years ago? I drive one around town here and was wondering if ir was used there as well.

What I mean is are they using the cheaper moped transportation now with fuel prices.

I thought that mopeds and scooters were widely used, even before the oil crises. Aren't they popular in many Mediterranean cities? I would think they would be popular in Spain as well.

Mopeds have always been popular here and many people use them so the price of fuel hasnt really affected things.
