A lot of the waiters will make up their weekly income from tips so it is always nice to leave something.

They can expect what they want, if the service is bad, or the food is bad, sorry but no tip.

I see a tip as a complimentation, that the service and/or food was good.

If the food is bad how is that the waiters fault he didnt cook it!

Haha :D Yes you are right there!

I think often tips are collected and then at the end of the month devided between everyone. Allthough this is not always the case. I do think this is more fair, the cook otherwise never gets anything extra.

Cooks dont often get a share of the tips as they are on a higher wage it is the serving staff that receive them.

If its a simple place then I tip around 5%, if the place is fancy then I would tip around 10% to 12%. Wait staff remember good tippers in all places. lol
